Best BBQ in Oklahoma: My Top barbecue 5 Picks

I am a picky one when it comes to food, especially BBQ. I’m pretty sure I’ve been to EVERY Barbecue joint in Oklahoma city and the surrounding areas. I guess that makes me some kind of expert, right???

I am definitely one of those people that would rather cook something for cheaper than go out, especially if I can do it myself and make it taste better! Here are the places I think are the best. They cook BBQ better than me!

5. Iron Star

Iron Star is a swanky place! Last time I went there was a wedding reception being held in a private room. I love the feel and the presentation of the food and service here. If you are looking for a more “fancy” barbecue place, this is the one for you.

The staff was truly amazing, and I can’t say enough about their service. I really like the sauce. It is a wonderful “classic” taste. A perfect combination of tangy, sweet, and heat.

4. Swadley’s BBQ

Anyone who has ever attempted to go to Swadley’s around lunchtime knows that they must be good. There is never a place to park! Swadley’s has more of a “fast food” feel to it. You go up and order at the counter, and then bring the food back to your own booth. It’s a good, quick BBQ option.

I went to one of the south side locations, and had a hard time finding a high chair. This is a little bit of trouble for me, because I have 4 small kids. Accommodations for kids is an important part of whether or not I’ll go back to a restaurant. I would definitely eat at Swadley’s again if I were just with my husband. But if I were to brave the crowds with my kids again, I would call ahead to my location to make sure child seats are available at my location!

3. Earl’s Rib Palace

And palace it is indeed. I have been to the one in Bricktown a few times. It’s not too pricey, and they give you a decent helping! The downside to this particular location is: There is very little parking. You will have to find parking behind the theater, or in the hotel next door. But, if you are out and about for a fun night in Bricktown, this is a great place to sit down and eat.

Earl’s Rib Palace will not disappoint. They have 3 different sauces, excellent service, and tender meat that is delicious, and not too salty.

2. Dale’s BBQ House

This is literally some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had in my entire life! I have had some friends and acquaintances complain about service, but the staff was kind to me when I went with all of my kids. You CAN NOT beat the prices, and the amount of food they give you is awesome. I don’t know exactly what makes this one of the best. I can’t put my finger on it. Perhaps its the perfectly seasoned and cooked meat. Maybe the friendliness of the staff, or quite possibly the perfection of the sauce!

Dales is AWESOME. Their restaurant is set up the way a lot of chinese places are. They have a counter where you order, and then they bring the food to you. I imagine that they would be great for catering, or for those days when you are expected to bring a dish to a party and you drop the ball.

Beautifully Connected TOP 5 BBQ PICKS FOR OKLAHOMA1. Bad Brad’s

This is my TOP PICK! I love Bad Brad’s! Both the Yukon location and the Stillwater location are a bit of a drive for me, but you can’t beat bad brad’s!

Bad Brad’s has a regular sauce and a hot sauce. Both are delicious! But the hot is not for the faint of heart!

They have this amazing skillet cooked corn bread! In my flour eating days I would get an “OK Twister” for lunch. It’s this amazing flour tortilla filled with: bbq meat, beans, cheese, onions, and fried potatoes. For dinner the “Cowboy Special” is a build your own barbecue awesome-ness. You get to choose your meat and sides. There service is always awesome, and they have great accommodations for families and children!
